It’s a long way to the top if you want to be a farming rock star!
“Yesterday is gone. Tomorrow has not yet come. We have only today. Let us begin.”
Is it Friday already? Shooooey, these days are going by fast! Sorry for the late newsletter today, Matt has arrived, along with his cousin, our close compainion, Cory, and we have been working like dogs! The house is looking amazing, and the veggies are scrumptious! I have to keep this short, though, because there’s a whole lot more to do!
At the farm, the summer veggies are growing almost before my eyes. The cucumbers are vining, the tomatoes are reaching for the sun, and the squash and zucchini are starting to bud! Germination has been noted in the watermelons and cantaloupes, and the peppers and eggplant are loving the warmer than usual temperatures we’ve been having this week. It’s going to cool down a bit next week, which will be good for the broccoli, cauliflour and cabbages. Some like it hot, they don’t… The chickens seem to be growing before my very eyes, too! There getting fat and happy, and some are even getting a little sassy!
I hope to see you at the NoDa Farmer’s Market tomorrow morning from 8am to noon! Mosey on down to my table for your lettuce, arugula, spinach, collards, kale or radish needs! Also, making their debut, baby rainbow chard and beet greens! It’s going to be a beautiful spring day tomorrow, so shake off them midweek shoes and bust out those weekend kicks and march on down to the field at Alexander St. and 36th. Hope to see you there!
I hope you have a splendid week, and be sure to show your appreciation to those around you that are rooting for you succeed! Peace!
